You know you read a title like that and you assume that I will be talking about addiction as it deals with gambling. Well, I have no problems with gambling. I know when to say when.
Today I want to talk about addiction to adrealine in reading. When you read an book that gives you lots of action do you find yourself getting a rush? Does the blood zoom to your head like you are doing the things that the book describes? I know I do. That’s one of the big draws for erotic romance. I am be the most WICKED woman in the world and never leave my living room. Many studies say for women sex/orgasm start in the brain. That’s why you can seduce a woman with just words. Being a part of the action…in my head…makes me take on the persona of the heroine about to be screwed six ways from sideways by the hero. And yet I’m not cheating on my husband. Or I’m a kicking some serious ass without breaking a nail. I can kill people and not go to jail. Or I can be the one to destroy the ring of power.
Can you become addicted to the high you get from reading a book? I know I can. If all books were free you would have to drag me from my house kicking and screaming. But since they are not, I have to go to work to pay for my fix. I know there are many of you out there who feel the same way.
Come admit to your addiction. For one winner who comments before Friday 3/20 and tells us about their addiction I will give you a free copy of one of my backlist books.
Oh…and in case you didn’t see…Stealing the Show is now on Fictionwise!!!

I’m addicted to erotic romances any genre. I just can’t get enough. I’d rather read than do any thing else. ha!ha! I put off housework. My husband gets irritated with me because I spend more time reading than with him. I even read at work, My boss doesn’t care because I work 3rd shift it gets boring so I read.

I can totally get addicted. To the action and the lust. Plus the love, the hope, the happiness, that’s addictive too. Explains why so many women prefer romance, in whatever form. It’s just feel good. Endorphins.

I am addicted to reading. If all I’ve got is a cereal box, I’ll read all the print. Can’t say it gives me an adrenaline rush, but I love the times I’m so into a book that I can’t put it down and read way too late into the night.

My addiction is books. I will read basically any kind of book, aside from horror, if it gets put in front of me. Romance of all kinds is generally my favorite, and the one I have the most of and am most addicted to, followed closely by thrillers and history books.

I am addicted to paranormal romance books. My husband came home for his mid-tour break from Iraq and you could not pry me away from one of my books with any tools! He was jealous I wasn’t giving him my full attention but I couldn’t help it! I am officially an addict for romance book with steamy sex scenes lol!

I am addicted to reading, and my most favorite is erotic paranormal. If the book is really hot, great, if it also paranormal, I am on my high and can’t stop until it is done. Then I am sighing, wishing that I hadn’t finished it so fast. LOL

I also am addicted to books. I read 6 to 8 full length books a week minimum. I’ve also discovered reviewing books. I review what I buy and I also review for a few sites as yes, Leila, you can sometime get free books (which you then review). I have books in my car, the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom and even the bathroom. There is always a book at hand and in progress for me to pick up. Let me just say, I LOVE BOOKS. As my children grew up and moved out, I’ve turned a bedroom or two into my libraries

I absolutely love to read. Am I addicted to it? Well, right now, I have stacks of books waiting to be read and I have boxes and boxes of books I’ve finished. Someday, I may be able to sort through them and pass them along, but it will be like giving up my best friends.

Hot chocolate & hot reading: a totally wicked addiction.

I love to read and read almost all the time. Almost all of my spare time is reading, especially since it is usually better than reality.

I’m addicted to reading books. It doesn’t matter if it’s an erotic romance, plain fantasy & Science Fiction, once I get a book in my hands it’s difficult for me to put it down and do anything else.

As are virtually all the others who have commented, I am addicted to reading. I can go through 2 books a day, if they are engrossing enough, and I stay up much later than I should when I am reading something that I just can’t put down. I am also addicted to chocolate, but that is easier to stay away from as long as I don’t have any in the house!

My addiction is books and reading. And of course chocolate too. I just have to have both.
